The Miami Dolphins took a stumble Sunday night, as they came out on the wrong end of a marquee matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road. Miami absorbed a 31-17 loss at the hands of the reigning NFC champions, but that doesn't diminish one bit the confidence of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle — even with a number of aching bodies on the team.

“Kinda,” Jaylen Waddle said when asked if he feels the Dolphins are banged up following the Eagles game, per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “But we have confidence in whoever we put out there. With injury comes opportunity. A lot of guys are getting opportunities.”

Waddle had an injury scare himself during the second quarter of the contest versus Philly. He seemed to have hurt his back but allayed fears of a serious issue when he returned to action in the third quarter. He finished the game with 63 receiving yards while pulling down all six passes that came his way.

There should be more clarity on which Dolphins players are nursing injuries once the team releases its first injury report heading into Week 8 of the 2023 NFL regular season. Miami dropped to 5-2 after the loss to the Eagles, but the Dolphins remain on top of the AFC East division. Coming up next for Waddle and the Dolphins is a chance to return to their winning ways when they face the New England Patriots again on Sunday. Miami defeated the Patriots in Foxborough back in Week 2, 24-17.
