Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake reacts to trade rumors involving him
September hasn’t been kind to Miami Dolphins fans. Not only did they make the history books for the horrific display of football they showcased, but trade rumors surrounding key players like Kenyan Drake keep on circulating with the press.
However, the Dolphins’ RB1 has clarified that he doesn’t want to go anywhere else. He claimed that Miami is his home and he wants to succeed there.
He addressed the rumors circulating about him and appeased the suffering Dolphins fans. Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper wrote about the Alabama product’s commitment to the team that drafted him.
“I don’t know anything about the validity of that and I’m going to continue to show up every day to do my job. . . . Of course I want to be here,” Drake said, via the Miami Herald. “Fourth year. I have a great relationship with everybody, the people who sweep up and work behind us to the people in the kitchen staff, the coaching staff. The media relations people, everybody. Obviously, everything being equal, I would want to be here.”
The running back didn’t get to do much against the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. He didn’t start in both of those games and only carried the ball 10 times for 31 yards. His receiving numbers are also low, making seven catches for 44 yards.
It’s possible that Drake is only giving lip service to the fans and is actually looking for a way out. There is a big chance that this iteration of the Dolphins is the worst in NFL history. Yes, even worse than the 0-16 Cleveland Browns of 2017.
Sure, they’re tanking to get Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft, but the way they’re achieving it is downright embarrassing. The season has been painful for Miami fans, and September isn’t even over yet.
