The Miami Dolphins may be tanking this season and their future may be contingent on hitting in the NFL Draft, but they are not opposed to acquiring talent. That was made clear just a couple of hours ahead of the trade deadline with a big move being made by the Dolphins.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have acquired veteran cornerback Aqib Talib from the Los Angeles Rams along with a fifth-round pick in exchange for a future draft pick.

At this point in time, the pick going back to the Rams is unknown. However, it seems unlikely that the Dolphins would be sending a high draft pick for an aging cornerback. It is likely that the Rams were willing to take less to clear Talib's money off the books to get a long-term deal done with superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Talib is an intriguing addition for the Dolphins. He is in the final year of his contract, which means that this is likely just a rental move for Miami. In the offseason, Talib will be able to test free agency.

On the season thus far with the Rams in five games, Talib has recorded 14 total tackles to go along with two defended passes. He has dealt with some injury issues as well. Miami isn't getting the superstar version of Talib, but if he does end up playing for them he is a massive upgrade.

All of that being said, the trade deadline has been wild so far and there are still quite a few moves that could end up being made. Stay tune, as we will have all the up-to-date news for you.
