It was many, many years ago. But before Nick Saban was the legendary college football coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide, he was briefly the head coach for the Miami Dolphins. He coached in Miami for two seasons spanning from 2005 through 2006 before heading to college football.

Former Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder joined “The Pivot Podcast” this week. On the show, Crowder talked about an instance when he brought a stripper to the Dolphins team facility back in 2005. New York Times writer Jenna Lemoncelli captured Crowder's remembrance of the incident.

“I brought in a stripper and had her dance for Nick Saban… I brought strippers in the Dolphins’ facility… She walked in with nothing but a thong on and a Jason Taylor jersey, and she went up there, and Nick Saban was on a chair and she went up and shook it for Nick Saban… Nick Saban grabbed her hips, moved her to the side and ran up the stairs.”

Obviously, that particular instance was not likely to be a reason Saban left for Alabama. But knowing his personality, it certainly did not help the case for him remaining an NFL head coach. Saban would go just 15-17 in his two years in at Miami. For many years, it's been a contentious history between the Dolphins and the legendary coach. Saban has always stated the reason he left was because Miami did not sign Drew Brees.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback was dealing with a shoulder injury and failed a physical. Miami passed on signing him and he would eventually sign in New Orleans and become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Meanwhile, Nick Saban has gone on to win seven national championships.
