Ryan Fitzpatrick was unable to practice with the Miami Dolphins during the team's scrimmage on Saturday due to his mother passing away. After seeing Fitzpatrick leave the field in a sorrowful manner, Tua Tagovailoa says he got emotional, per Clay Ferraro of WPLG.

When Tagovailoa learned why Fitzpatrick left the field, he said that he thought of his own mom. Even though he witnessed his teammate leave the field, Tagovailoa had to step in for Fitzpatrick during Saturday's scrimmage.

The rookie signal-caller would have a hot and cold performance in the scrimmage, failing to cement himself as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart. However, Josh Rosen also didn't do enough to place himself ahead in the battle for the backup spot behind Fitzpatrick.

It's always terrible losing loved ones and it's likely even worse receiving the news when you are preparing for work like Fitzpatrick was. Nonetheless, it appears Tagovailoa and his teammates have his back during these trying times.
