Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross recently said that he will not try to lure Jim Harbaugh away from the University of Michigan to take Adam Gase's place as head coach.

After all, Ross is a Michigan alum and has done a lot for the school. In addition, Harbaugh has said that he is happy coaching the Wolverines and will not be leaving.

That won't stop the rumors from bubbling.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik feels that the Dolphins will go hot and heavy after Harbaugh, surmising that Ross and the rest of the Miami front office already had a plan in place upon firing Gase.

As much as Ross does not want to ruffle the feathers of Michigan, the Dolphins need some kind of shot in the arm, because they are a franchise that has been flopping on the pier for years now.

Miami won seven games this season and has made the playoffs just once since 2009. Even worse, the once-proud franchise has not won a playoff game since the 2000 campaign, and it has not made it past the Divisional Round since the 1992 season.

This from a team that made it to five Super Bowls between 1971 and 1984, winning back-to-back Super Bowl titles during the 1972 and 1973 campaigns.

Harbaugh has been at Michigan for four years but has actually been a disappointment, going just 1-3 in bowl appearances and losing three straight bowl games overall.

However, Harbaugh has an NFL track record, as he coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 through 2014, leading them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2012.
