ā€œDid you forget about me?ā€ ā€“ Xavien Howard, probably.

On Monday, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Howard made it back into the lineup after missing the last two weeks with a knee injury. The Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl cornerback quickly made an impression.

On Pittsburgh's second offensive play of the day, Howard reeled in a Mason Rudolph-thrown interception. Howard was tasked in coverage with wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and made it look easy. Watch below.

Notice the third replay of the interception. Howard absolutely locks down the standout wide receiver, then he made a perfect read on the ball and lept for it.

Howard's interception shouldn't be surprising. He is an absolute ballhawk. He has 12 career interceptions. In 2018, he led the league with seven ā€” which is rare for a cornerback. That led to the Dolphins handing the 26-year-old a massive five-year, $76.5 contract extension in the offseason.
