Don'Tale Mayes wants to capitalize on a big victory at UFC Vegas 45 and is looking at Derrick Lewis. The heavyweight beat Josh Parisian by TKO in the third round to score a win over a rising prospect.

Getting the finish was like an extra victory for Don'Tale Mayes as he always aims to get the stoppage. Going the distance is not something the UFC heavyweight likes.

“I got the finish tonight, so I can’t complain,” Mayes told media backstage via MMAJunkie. “I got to showcase some grappling. … If I can’t get the finish and go to a decision, I feel like I lost for real. So I’m always looking for the finish.”

Getting big wins means you can call your own shot and ask for whoever you want next. The UFC heavyweight wanted someone with a big name.

He didn't hesitate to take a look at the main event of UFC Vegas 45 and ask for the winner. Derrick Lewis was the person he wanted.

“They’ve got a January card. I don’t know if they’d let me turn around that fast, but February-March, I’ll be ready. I put smoke on everybody. I don’t turn down fights. Every time they come with an opponent, I say, ‘Let’s do it.’ … I’ll fight Derrick Lewis if I can get that fight.”

The fight against Derrick Lewis would be a tough one to book as both men are in different spots career-wise. Lewis is currently main eventing UFC cards while Don'Tale Mayes is still working his way up the heavyweight division.
