The prodigal esports star returns. Yilliang “Doublelift” Peng just couldn't stay away from the organization he called home for several years. He arguably found success with his other professional League of Legends teams like Counter Logic Gaming and Team Liquid but TSM will always be his home. Now, Doublelift makes a return to the black-and-white banner not as its AD Carry but as a Full-Time Streamer.

RECALL TO BASE

Doublelift decided to retire from the professional League of Legends scene in November of last year. He played for TSM in his last competitive year after serving under TL for several years. He was ultimately unable to win a world championship but managed to leave behind an impressive legacy. Doublelift didn't reveal any of his plans following his retirement last year. Many speculated that he would join his fellow former-TSM player Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg's decision to join the organization's management team. Players sometimes turn to coaching or on-air broadcasts when they officially retire but Doublelift made no such promises.

Finally, after almost four months, we finally learn what Doublelift plans to do with his time away from the high-leveled play of competitive League of Legends. His addition as TSM's streamer and content-creator gives rise to the possibility of seeing his dazzling plays in special League of Legends events such as the annual All-Star events. Fortunately, he already has ample experience as a streamer across his many years playing in the LCS. It's unlikely that Doublelift will ever return to the competitive scene but it's absolutely great that he found his place after his retirement.

Doublelift may have failed to claim his own Summoner's Cup but he has a large army of supporters ready to watch his streams.
