Draymond Green stood at center court holding onto the game ball after the final buzzer, ready to give a thank you speech to the fans at Oracle Arena for their support.

The Golden State Warriors had just dismantled the Memphis Grizzlies to become the first team in NBA History to win 73 games in an 82 game season.

It was an incredibly special occasion, and as his teammates huddled around, Green decided that the game ball was not leaving the hands of the Warriors players at any moment.

Green told Mercury News why this particular ball was so significant, if you couldn't already guess.

Now we're going to cut it up and give everybody a piece of it. It means that I'm a part of the best team ever, and not many people can say that. Fifteen guys can say that.

..and they all deserve it.
