It’s the best time of the year if you’re a college baseball fan as the NCAA Tournament is currently underway, and only eight teams will be left standing at the College World Series soon. Unfortunately for the Duke baseball team, their run ended this weekend in the Norman regional. The Blue Devils lost 4-3 on Sunday, and that was the end of their season. However, Duke catcher Chad Knight has found a silver lining to the season, and his college baseball career, coming to a close.

NCAA athletes are not allowed to participate in any sort of sports gambling, but now that Chad Knight is no longer a Duke baseball player, he can start betting. He is sad about his college baseball career ending, but now his DraftKings career can begin.

Goodbye college baseball,” Knight said in a tweet. “Hello Draftkings.”

Knight wasn’t done there, either. Like every first-time gambler, he is excited to be able to bet on sports now, and he already has his first parlay in mind.

“I definitely shouldn’t parlay all 5 ACC teams to make it to the college World Series,” Knight said sarcastically in a tweet.

The GIF that Knight included in the tweet is of a popular social media personality who is part of the “Pointer Brothers” group. They are two twins that often say they aren’t going to do things that they are, in fact, going to do.

There is a silver lining for Chad Knight as he ends his collegiate baseball career. He is finally allowed to legally bet on sports, and it’s clear that he is wasting no time getting in on the action. The five ACC teams left are Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia, NC State and Clemson. Those are the teams that Knight will be rooting for if he does decide to lock in that first parlay.

Duke baseball had a good season

Duke baseball didn’t make it all the way to the College World Series like they hoped, but at least guys like Chad Knight can bet on sports now. At the end of the day, the Blue Devils still did have a successful season. Duke ended up going 40-20 overall and they went 16-14 in conference play, but they went out on top in their final conference clash as they won the ACC Tournament.

The Blue Devils came into the ACC Tournament as the six seed, but they ended up winning the entire thing. They made it out of pool play, and they ended up taking down Florida State in the championship game.

The regional in Norman, Oklahoma didn’t go to plan, but it was still a good year for Duke. The Blue Devils are now done, and so is catcher Chad Knight. Enjoy DraftKings, my friend.
