Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery did not exactly have the best day of his life on Sunday.

Not only did he see a pass from Nick Foles go directly through his hands and into the arms of New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore to preserve a 20-14 victory for the Saints in their Divisional Round playoff matchup, but he was also playing with cracked ribs, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

An MRI revealed earlier in the week that Jeffery had the injury.

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson praised Jeffery for his toughness after the game:

“There's nobody that works harder,” said Johnson, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com. “The guy has broken ribs and toughed it out for his teammates. He doesn't have to say nothing. We had plenty of opportunities to win this game. It's not one guy's fault.”

Last year, Jeffery played through a torn rotator cuff, so this is not the first time he has toughed out injuries.

The 28-year-old ended up with five catches for 63 yards during the loss. On the season, Jeffery hauled in 65 receptions for 843 yards and six touchdowns.

Jeffery joined the Eagles in March 2017 after spending the first five years of his career with the Chicago Bears, where he made one Pro Bowl back n 2013 after snaring 89 balls for 1,421 yards and seven scores.

Philadelphia actually jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter against New Orleans, but its offense then stalled as the Saints proceeded to reel off 20 unanswered points.
