Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Westbrook greeted the team's current tight end Zach Ertz on Twitter. It came a day after Ertz broke the franchise record for receptions in a season.

Westbrook previously held the team's reception record as he caught 90 passes in 2007. He also led the team in rushing that year with 1,333.

The former running back was a pivotal member of the Andy Reid-led Eagles in the 2000s. The team is known then as a regular qualifier in the playoffs due to their strong play. The Eagles managed to enter the playoffs in six of the eight seasons that Westbrook played for.

The 28-year-old tight end broke Westbrook's record in their Monday night win over the Washington Redskins.

He currently has 93 receptions and is within striking distance of Jason Witten's record for receptions in a season by a tight end because he only needs 18 more to do so.

The Eagles still have four more games to go, which gives Ertz a bigger chance to set a new record.

Ertz joined the team in 2013 after being picked in the second round of that year's draft. The Stanford product has been a consistent target for the Eagles' quarterbacks since.

In Super Bowl LII Ertz played a key role in the Eagles' 41-33 win over the New England Patriots. He recorded seven receptions for 67 yards and recorded a touchdown that served as the Eagles' go-ahead score. In the fourth quarter of that game, he caught a seven-yard touchdown pass in the end-zone from Nick Foles to give the Eagles a 38-33 lead.
