The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are not the dominant force they were last season. Carson Wentz and company are still trying to find their groove a month and a half into the 2018 campaign.

Fortunately for Philadelphia, the team was able to get a win over the division rival New York Giants on Thursday night in convincing fashion. Wentz talked about what the win has done for the team moving forward, via Graham Foley of the team's website.

“It’s just a big win for us,” Wentz said. “NFC East, finally get that conference going, short week like it was, cleaned up a handful of mistakes. Obviously, we weren't perfect tonight, but to come out early in the first quarter, get points on the board with that first drive right away, that stuff was huge so it was a big win for us.”

Wentz had arguably his best game yet in his return to the gridiron after recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL which ended his season last year. The third-year quarterback threw for 278 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He outplayed Eli Manning from start to finish and came away with an impressive 34-13 victory on the road.

The Eagles will try to keep it going in Week 7 with a tough challenge ahead of them against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. It'll be the first of two games at home or considered a home game with the second also being against a formidable opponent in the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. That second game will be played in London, England at Wembley Stadium.
