When the Philadelphia Eagles traded for DeSean Jackson back in March, he was expected to take what was an already impressive offense to another level.

It hasn't exactly worked out that way.

Jackson suffered a core muscle injury in Week 2 and was sidelined through Week 9, where he tried to make his return. However, he re-aggravated the injury and underwent surgery to repair it in November, knocking him out for the remainder of the regular season.

But could the wide receiver return for a potential playoff run?

Jackson seems to think so, telling reporters he is doing everything he can to make it back for a possible postseason berth, via Jeff Skversky of 6 ABC.

Of course, the Eagles would have to make the playoffs first.

If the season ended today, Philadelphia would be on the outside looking in, but the good news is that there are still two games left to play. The Eagles can take a major step toward punching their ticket to the playoffs with a win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

However, if Philly loses to the Cowboys, Dallas will clinch the NFC East, which will also knock the Eagles out of playoff contention.

So, Week 16 is a must-win for the Birds, and Jackson certainly won't be around to help them in this game.

Jackson isn't the only Eagles wideout who is injured, either, as Alshon Jeffery was placed on the injured reserve list last week due to a foot injury.

Philadelphia is 7-7 on the year.
