As Carson Wentz continues to try and work himself back into football shape after a variety of injuries have slowed him down over the last two years, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson seems to think he’s been playing very good so far.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Pederson couldn’t help but heap praise onto Wentz, saying he was “very impressed” at how the quarterback was playing.

“I mean, gosh, he’s strong,” Pederson said via Pro Football Talk. “His lower body is strong. His arm is strong. You are seeing the things that we saw a couple of years ago when he was healthy, obviously. He’s leading the offense, leading the team, and really doing a nice job out there. Getting on the same page with DeSean [Jackson] and really kind of getting that rapport going. . . . [I’ve] been real impressed with where Carson is.”

Pederson then went on to discuss that the plan is still to be as careful with Wentz as possible, and that the team was very careful with him to start.

“We just wanted to make sure he was progressing each day, and we’ve increased his load,” Pederson said. “He’s handled it well. Again, we’re always going to be a little bit guarded. With all our players, but especially him. Yeah, he’s been good.”

Of course, it looks like Wentz might slowly be getting back to his former self, and that would be great news for the Eagles as they try and make it back to another Super Bowl.

If Wentz can put his injuries behind him and continue to grow as one of the leagues best quarterbacks, who knows how far he can take the Eagles offense.
