The Philadelphia Eagles thought highly of Jalen Reagor, selecting him with the No. 21 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Ahead of Reagor's rookie season, Doug Pederson revealed how DeSean Jackson will play a big role in his development.

Instead of having Reagor start at multiple positions at wide receiver, Pederson told local reporters in a conference call that he'll start as an understudy to Jackson:

“He's going to come in and he's going to learn one position and he is going to learn from DeSean Jackson, and learn everything he can,” Pederson said in a conference call Tuesday. “Obviously the playbook is extensive and we just have to see what he's taken from the offseason to training camp, and then once we see his potential and his growth, then we can use him in multiple spots.

During April's draft, the Eagles elected to take Reagor at No. 21 despite Justin Jefferson still being available. At the same time, Philadelphia also could have chosen to trade up to select CeeDee Lamb. However, the Dallas Cowboys lucked out and took Lamb with the No. 17 pick in the draft.

Coming out of TCU, Reagor is a big-play threat that excels at stretching the field. Even though he won't begin at multiple spots, Pederson wants Reagor to be capable of moving around in the future.

“But one of the things that all of our receivers really have the capability of doing is moving inside, whether they are an outside guy going inside or an inside guy going outside. We'll keep him at one position to start and we'll grow from there.”

Jackson is entering his 13th season and has had a successful career in the NFL. If Reagor can share a similar skillset as Jackson, he'll do just fine in the NFL as well.
