It was announced earlier this week through a press release on behalf of president Donald Trump that the Philadelphia Eagles were no longer invited to go visit the White House to honor their Super Bowl win.

Despite that, Trump had stated that those Eagles fans that would have been in attendance at that event could still come on Tuesday in the altered plans by the White House. According to Tim Furlong of NBC10 Philadelphia, it doesn't appear that those “fans” that are present even follow the team closely in any manner.

This gives off the notion that the president has brought in people to the White House with the simple task of trying to shove in the face of the Eagles for not wanting to attend. It doesn't sound like these people are true fans of the team which that fanbase has earned the reputation as being some of the most passionate in not only the NFL but other professional sports as well.

It would farfetched to think that “fans” of the Eagles would not even know that Nick Foles was the quarterback for their first Super Bowl win in franchise history. This is clearly an attempt to get people into the White House to give the appearance that there was going to be a packed crowd in attendance to support the team being honored.

Philadelphia didn't have any desire to truly be there at the White House to be celebrated by president Trump that had reportedly less than 10 players even wanting to show up. Regardless of how the White House will try to publicly swing this situation, it is clear that there was never any true support to make this all happen this summer. The Eagles look to be more than content to through this offseason without this honorary event.
