The Philadelphia Eagles announced they wouldn't be picking up safety Malcolm Jenkins 2020 option, and he took to Twitter to thank the city of Brotherly Love for welcoming him with opening arms.

Jenkins played six years with the Eagles making a couple of Pro Bowls and helping lead the franchise to a Super Bowl victory.

Jenkins thanked everyone from the Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to the fans. Jenkins also said that no matter where he goes, Philadelphia is now his home so he will still be around:

“I’m usually a man with a lot to say. I take pride in my ability to articulate my thoughts and feelings. But . . . today the words are escaping me,” Jenkins wrote. “There are too many people to thank and too many great memories to single anyone out in particular. I can only say, I’m grateful to Mr. Lurie for the opportunity to represent this city. I thank my teammates for making me better every single day. I thank the warriors in this community that fight for a better Philadelphia. And I thank the fan base for embracing me as your own. I hope that I am leaving having given more than I have received. That has always been my mission and I hope I represented you all well. Also, this is my home so I’m sure you’ll see me around. So this is not goodbye, but I’ll see you later.”

Jenkins has played 11 seasons in the league, but he has made it clear that he would like to continue playing, although it's unclear how big of a market he will have.

Even if there isn't a big market for him, there should be at least a team or two that wants his veteran leadership on their team based on how important he was to the Eagles.
