The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off an unlikely victory over the Los Angeles Rams behind quarterback Nick Foles. Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick feels Philadelphia may have to consider him a long-term option.

There has been a long-standing debate regarding which quarterback the Eagles should roll with under center. Vick said during an appearance on The Herd that Foles is a better fit than Wentz is:

“Nick Foles takes the pressure of the offense. When Carson Wentz is out there, Doug Pederson feels the need to be dynamic. When Nick Foles is out there everyone is at ease, the game plan is simplified.”

Vick's comments may seem a bit far-fetched. Wentz is a former No. 1 overall pick who was in the midst of an MVP-caliber season prior to a devastating knee injury last year. Meanwhile, Foles was a bit of an NFL journeyman on the cusp of retirement before leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory.

Regardless, there is still some truth to what Vick is saying. The former Eagles quarterback is not implying that Foles is better than Wentz, simply that he is better for head coach Doug Pederson. The offense failed to find any kind of rhythm while Wentz was under center. Vick is indicating that it may be due to Pederson's desire to ramp things up when his star quarterback is in.

Regardless, their questions under center will remain as long as Wentz continues to get injured. Foles has begun to mirror the type of success he enjoyed when he took over down the final stretch of the 2017 campaign. They will need the veteran to continue playing at a high level if they hope to keep their playoffs hope alive over the next two games.
