Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor enjoyed quite the performance against the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately, he had a chance for an even bigger day had he not dropped an easy ball that would have likely resulted in a touchdown.

Rather than securing a potential three-point lead with less than two minutes left in the game, the drive ultimately stalled en route to a 20-24 loss to the Falcons. According toPaul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Agholor is shouldering the blame for this one.

“I have to make that play,” Agholor said. “I have to find a way to catch it. Watch where it's going and look it all the way in. I train every day to make plays like that.”

It is encouraging to see Agholor step up and take responsibility for his mistakes. While the crucial drop did prove to be quite costly, it was hardly the only mistake that the Eagles made. More importantly, he managed to find a way to make up for it with a 43-yard catch on fourth down later in the drive.

There is no denying that Agholor did plenty to help the Eagles stay in the game. Philadelphia lost their top two wideouts in Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson during the game. He was able to step up as the No.1 option in the receiving corps by finishing with eight receptions for 107 and a touchdown. Unfortunately, it is clear that he is still haunted by the catch he failed to make.

Agholor will have a chance to redeem himself at home against the Detroit Lions in Week 3.
