Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles already has his fair share of accolades. Not only does he have his Super Bowl ring, but he also has his Super Bowl MVP after leading the Eagles to their first championship in franchise history over the New England Patriots.

Thanks to that outstanding game against the Pats, Foles has been nominated for yet another prestigious honor: the Best Championship Performance Award at the ESPYs.

Per ESPN:

The Warriors' Kevin Durant, who won last year, again received a nod for best championship performance. He goes against Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, World Series MVP George Springer and Villanova Wildcats guard Donte DiVincenzo, who was the most outstanding player of the men's Final Four.

Foles was without a doubt one of the most incredible sports stories of the past year. After starter Carson Wentz went down with a serious knee injury, the Eagles’ championship hopes seemed like they were all over. But Foles stepped up in a big way as he successfully led the Eagles back to the Super Bowl.

Foles then saved his best for last during the Super Bowl itself as he delivered a stunning performance against the Patriots. He finished with 373 passing yards for three touchdowns and also caught another touchdown in the famous “Philly Special” play.

Given the incredibly unique circumstances of his entire situation-from his rise as a backup all the way to his brilliant effort to beat the favored Patriots-it’s hard not to make Foles the significant favorite for the award.
