Another essential addition is coming in for the Philadelphia Eagles as they've signed safety Johnathan Cyprien to a one-year deal.

The 29-year-old defensive back is looking to make an impact for a stacked defensive unit with his physical play. Cyprien will be trying to make the most of this opportunity in playing alongside the likes of Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, and Andrew Sendejo at his position group.

However, he will have an uphill battle after suffering an ACL tear last season when he was with the Tennessee Titans. His time with the Titans was hampered with injuries as he only played a total of 10 games in two seasons.

But something that makes Cyprien such a great addition to the roster is his ability against the run as one of the best defenders at his position.

The Eagles are hoping for the same results for when he comes back healthy and willing to contribute to the defensive backfield. And with his expertise in run defense, it should help a team that gave up an average of 4.7 yards per carry which had them ranked as the 12th-worst in that category.

Something that can make Cyprien that more versatile is his ability to play physical down in the box as a dime linebacker. To go along with his aforementioned run defense, he's also a particularly skilled blitzing safety when given a chance to go after the quarterback. He's someone that can fill a role if need be for an Eagles linebacking unit that's been struggling recently.

If he can show that his ACL injury isn't bothering him and can make an impact with his play, then Johnathan Cyprien will be a welcome piece for Philadelphia.
