Nelson Agholor seems likely to remain with the Philadelphia Eagles after all. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, the Eagles are poised to let the four-year pro's contract for next season become fully guaranteed on Wednesday afternoon despite recent speculation the team would go in a different direction.

Teams and players are able to put pen to paper on contracts with exterior free agents when the league year officially begins at 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday. That's also the deadline for the Eagles to release or trade Agholor while incurring no financial penalty, one the team will apparently let come and ago, content to pay him $9.4 million in 2019.

Philadelphia's acquisition of DeSean Jackson earlier this week led to some analysts suggesting the team would move on from Agholor. Is paying Agholor, Jackson, and number one wide receiver Alshon Jeffery approximately $32 million worth of combined salary really the best allocation of the Eagles' financial resources? Apparently so.

Couch Doug Pederson's glowing appraisal of Agholor no doubt contributed to that decision.

“I love this guy. He's the first one in, last one out. He's a hard worker,” he said of Agholor on Wednesday, per 247 Sports' Jeff Kerr. “Spends time before and after practice. Can't say enough good things about Nelson Agholor and the good things he's brought to the table and what he'll continue to bring.”

Agholor, a first-round pick of the Eagles in 2015, had a career-high 64 catches for 736 yards and four touchdowns last season, proving his breakout campaign a year earlier wasn't a one-season blip.
