Thursday night’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons was far from a barnburner football fans expected it to be, with both teams trading penalties, punts, and incomplete drives, particularly in the first half.

With his team needing a spark on offense, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson reached for a trick play in his bag in the third quarter – and it’s the same trick New England Patriots fans might not find entertaining to see again.

Here’s Philly quarterback Nick Foles and company running the Philly Special in their first game of the 2018 NFL season, this time with the Falcons as the unsuspecting victims of the setup.

For those in need of a refresher, Foles also caught a pass off of the same play in Super Bowl 52 last February against the Patriots, though, that one ended in a touchdown score for the quarterback, thus making the play even more special.

The Eagles ended their Week 1 assignment the same way they finished 2017, as they eked out an 18-12 win over Matt Ryan and the Falcons. Foles went 19-of-34 for 117 yards and zero touchdowns and interception, but running back Jay Ajayi blew up with two touchdowns and 62 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Will the Eagles make execute the Philly Special again next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? That’s one thing to watch out for in Week 2.
