Emma Navarro takes on Aryna Sabalenka at the French Open. Our French Open odds series has our Navarro Sabalenka prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Navarro Sabalenka.

The 2024 French Open has a favorite in the women's tournament. Iga Swiatek has won the tournament two straight years and three of the last four. That can't be denied or ignored. However, if there is a second choice behind Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka has established herself as the answer. Sabalenka has met Swiatek in two big European clay-court finals before this French Open in 2024. Sabalenka came within one point of beating Swiatek in Madrid. She then lost in the Rome final to Swiatek. She's the second-best player on tour. She's the second-best player on clay. She is ahead of the rest of the field as the main challenger to Swiatek. We're all waiting to see if Sabalenka can slash her way through the draw and earn another reunion with Swiatek in the Roland Garros women's singles final on Saturday, June 8.

This match against American Emma Navarro, the No. 22 seed, figures to be an excellent measuring stick for Sabalenka. If she wins convincingly, the idea that she will be ready to make the final will gain a lot of momentum.

Why Emma Navarro Could Cover The Spread

The championship at Roland Garros will be decided on Saturday. Can Emma Navarro bump off Sabalenka and rock the women's draw? It won't be easy, but she has a chance. Meanwhile, in terms of the game spread of +4.5 games, that means Navarro covers the spread if she loses by a 6-4, 6-4 score or a 6-4, 7-5 score. Sabalenka would win two sets by two games apiece. If Navarro can lose two close sets, she covers. If she loses one set 6-3, then she's in trouble, but after beating Madison Keys — who had been enjoying a very solid clay season and has an elite serve — Navarro has a decent chance of being able to break Sabalenka's serve a few times in this match and keeping both sets extremely close. She might even be able to force a third set, but the main thing from a betting perspective is to ask yourself if Navarro can play two very close sets.

Why Aryna Sabalenka Could Cover The Spread

If Sabalenka can win one set 6-2, she should cover. She could win the other set 7-6 and still win by five games (13-8). If she wins one set 6-3, she can win the other set 6-4 or 7-5 and still win by five games, thereby covering the spread. Since Sabalenka has been the second-best player on the WTA Tour this clay season, and since she keeps making finals of big tournaments, it's pretty reasonable to take her against the spread here.

Final Emma Navarro-Aryna Sabalenka Prediction & Pick

The best bet to make is on Navarro total games. We'll explain why. You might think Navarro will cover the +4.5-game spread, thinking Navarro can win at least four games in each set. However, that means Navarro has to play really well in two sets. If, however, you bet on Navarro to win fewer than 9.5 games, she doesn't have to play great in both sets. Let's say Navarro loses the first set 6-4. She would have to win at least four games in the second set to cover the spread. That's very possible but maybe not likely. However, if you bet on Navarro under 9.5 games, a 6-4 loss in the first set means Navarro could win as many as five games in the second set and still cover as long as she doesn't win six games. You have more margin with total games than with the spread, in the event that this is a straight-set match. You would want to bet on Navarro plus the spread if you think Navarro will win one set.

Final Emma Navarro-Aryna Sabalenka Prediction & Pick: Navarro under 9.5 games
