If you attend a gig on Green Day's “The Saviors” tour, expect a long night. The band has made a huge decision regarding their setlists and their hit albums, American Idiot and Dookie.
A long setlist
Rollig Stone has confirmed that the band is planning on celebrating Dookie and American Idiot, which are celebrating their thirtieth and twentieth anniversaries, respectively. The band will play both albums in full on every night of the upcoming tour, which commences on May 30.
“We've never done anything like this before,” bassist Mike Dirnt said. “And there's a really good chance we'll never do it again.”
Article Continues BelowAcross those two albums, there are 27 songs. Surely, Green Day will also play songs from their new album, Saviors, out on January 19. It will be a long night but a treat for fans of the band.
Green Day's upcoming “The Saviors” tour is in collaboration with the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas. Two legs and 43 shows have been announced across North America and Europe. The tour will kick off in Spain and is set to conclude with a show in San Diego, California.
The band has been doing a lot of promotion for Saviors. Green Day recently played a surprise set in the New York City subways for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, surprising commuters.
Saviors is the fourteenth studio album from Green Day. So far, the band has released four singles, “The American Dream Is Killing Me”; “Look Ma, No Brains!”; “One Eyes Bastard”; and “Dilemma.” Dookie and American Idiot are two of the band's biggest albums, with both albums winning Grammy Awards.
