During a live stream, Pewdiepie confirmed that he's taking a break this January 2022.

Youtube's biggest star still regularly uploads new videos. Although he used to never miss uploading a video on his channel every single day, he has since taken a step back from this habit. Instead, Felix Kjellberg has allowed himself to miss uploads every now and then. Sometimes, he'd even take a whole month off the platform.

The last time Pewdiepie took a break from Youtube, it was January of 2021. It would appear that the Youtuber has chosen to make the month of January his annual month of recovery, so to speak. Maybe, he just needs some time off to reconsider his options given that migrating to Japan is currently off the table.

The star also clarified that he's not taking a break because he's been burnt out. Instead, he says that it's just nice to sometimes have extended periods of time where he didn't have to worry about creating content or worrying about uploads. He also thanked his fans for being understanding and for not pressuring him to upload new content.

As of January 3, 2022, Pewdiepie remains to be the biggest channel on Youtube maintained by an individual user rather than by a company with 111 million subscribers.
