The San Antonio Spurs became a professional team in 1967. They were originally the Dallas Chaparrals of the ABA league before becoming an NBA franchise in 1976.

The Spurs franchise has won five NBA championships and compiled an overall record of 2,567-1,718. Throughout its long history, the franchise has produced basketball legends such as David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard and Gregg Popovich.

For this piece, we'll be taking a look at every trade deadline move the franchise has ever made in its history. There haven't been too many since the organization has usually built well-equipped, balanced rosters before the season starts.

1981-82

The Spurs traded a 1984 third-round pick to the Kansas City Kings for John Lambert.

1982-83

The Spurs sent a 1984 second-round draft pick and a 1985 third-round pick to the Detroit Pistons for Edgar Jones.

1985-86

The Spurs dealt Jeff Cook and Marc Iavaroni to the Utah Jazz for Jeff Wilkins.

1986-87

The Spurs traded Mychal Thompson to the Los Angeles Lakers for Frank Brickowski, Petur Gudmundsson, a 1987 first-round pick and a 1990 second-round pick.

1989-90

The Spurs sent Maurice Cheeks to the New York Knicks for Rod Strickland. San Antonio also traded Chris Welp to the Golden State Warriors for Uwe Blab.

1995-96

The Spurs traded Brad Lohaus, J.R. Reid and a 1996 first-round pick to the New York Knicks for Charles Smith and Monty Williams.

2004-05

The Spurs, who now had superstar Tim Duncan, sent Malik Rose, a 2005 first-round pick and a 2006 first-round draft pick to the New York Knicks for Jamison Brewer and Nazr Mohammed.

2006-07

The Spurs traded Eric Williams, cash and a 2009 second-round pick to the Charlotte Bobcats for Melvin Ely.

2007-08

The Spurs dealt Brent Barry, Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round pick to the Seattle SuperSonics for Kurt Thomas.

2009-10

San Antonio traded Theo Ratliff to the Charlotte Bobcats for a 2016 second-round pick.

2011-2012

In the lockout year, the Spurs decided to part ways with Richard Jefferson, sending him, T.J. Ford and a 2012 first-round pick (who later became Festus Ezeli) to the Golden State Warriors for Stephen Jackson.

2013-14

San Antonio sent Nando De Colo to the Toronto Raptors for Austin Daye.
