The Atlanta Falcons are struggling with a 1-4 record through the first five weeks of the season. Despite the slow start, owner Arthur Blank is looking for progress before the Week 9 bye or changes could come.

Due to the disappointing start for Atlanta, there have been murmurs that Dan Quinn's job is in jeopardy. On the contrary, Quinn's job seems to be safe for the time being.

Coming into the season, there was a ton of optimism that the Falcons could revert back to being a contender in the NFC South. Instead, the team is by its lonesome in last place of the division despite the bevy of offensive weapons on the roster.

Prior to the season though, the team decided to fire both of their coordinators. To replace them, they brought back Dirk Koetter as the offensive coordinator. As for the defensive coordinator position, the front office allowed Quinn to assume the duties of calling the plays.

Unfortunately, his play-calling hasn't helped the defense much this season. Currently, Atlanta has the 23rd ranked defense (20th against the pass, 19th against the run).

Along with their struggles on defense, an offense led by Matt Ryan is averaging just 20.4 points per game (20th in the NFL). That is unacceptable for a group that boasts a skill-player group that includes Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Calvin Ridley, Austin Hooper, and Devonta Freeman.

Nevertheless, Blank appears to be patient with the team before he makes any changes to the coaching staff.

The Falcons will attempt to get back on track in Week 6 versus the Arizona Cardinals.
