The NFL's Week 17 frequently brings new trick plays dusted off the playbook for teams with little to no consequence to their regular season finale. For the Atlanta Falcons and former MVP quarterback Matt Ryan, Sunday meant sending a 35-yard touchdown dart to offensive tackle Ty Sambrailo versus the Tampa Bay Bucs for the lineman's first career reception and score (via NFL Update).

Matt Ryan slipped the hand-off from his running back back out and found the wide open Sambrailo in stride for the bumbling, stumbling early touchdown in the first quarter to break the scoreless tie.

Sambrailo, 27, is in his third season with the Falcons after joining the NFC South club in 2017 via a trade for a fifth-round pick. The Denver Broncos initially selected the Colorado State product in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Sambrailo would later win a Super Bowl with the Broncos.

The Falcons inked the tackle to a three-year extension prior to the 2019 season, so perhaps we'll see more touches in Sambrailo's future in the Peach State. The main thing is for him to help Matt Ryan score. Sunday, he did so in a less traditional way for an offensive lineman.
