Fat Joe has more than enough reasons to rep the New York Knicks this year.
The additions of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee are just four of them.
The Bronx native said in an ESPN First Take interview that Knicks star Carmelo Anthony had called him from Brazil, expressing his eagerness of the team’s chances this upcoming year.
“In all the years I know Carmelo Anthony since he’s been in high school – and I hope he doesn’t beat me up – I’ve never once received a phone call,” Fat Joe said.
“I got a phone call from Carmelo Anthony and he said, ‘If there’s any year ever in your life to be a New York Knick fan, it’s this one. And go hard.'”
“And I said, ‘Melo, what are you saying?’ … He said, ‘I promise you, this is going to be an incredible year for the Knicks,'” Fat Joe said.
Seems like Melo is rallying up the troops. If this season is anything like Anthony’s prior post-Olympic season, back in 2012 — the Knicks might be onto a potential playoff run.
