The Indiana Fever have been in the news lately as Caitlin Clark's star has risen and opposing teams have taken their pot shots at the former Iowa basketball star. The ex-Hawkeye and two-time Final Four participant was leveled by Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter during game action on Saturday that ended in a Fever victory.

The hard foul from Carter brought a stern retort from Fever Coach Christie Sides who demanded a response from the league. Carter shared the reason why she decided to hit Clark in a series of comments revealed recently.

On Saturday, Golden State Warriors enforcer Draymond Green shared his thoughts on what the Fever must do to protect their young superstar.

Green believes the Fever must provide protection for Clark knowing full well that she has a target on her back as the WNBA's most well known player.

Fans reacted to Green's idea for Indiana with comments on X.

“If the WNBA won't protect her, they might have to,” one fan said.

“Yeah I thought (Aliyah) Boston would be one but I guess not,” another fan added. “They need a fighter.”

Clark leads the Fever in scoring with nearly 18 points per game so far on the season. Aliyah Boston is third on the team in scoring with 11 points per game while Kelsey Mitchell is second with 14.1 points per game.

The Fever are last place in the WNBA's Eastern Conference, 6.5 games behind the Conference leading Connecticut Sun. If Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston don't put their heads together and figure out a better way to play together soon, the Fever's season could be over just as quickly as it began.

As the season continues to move forward Green's suggestion has clearly made waves. Clark is still adjusting to life in the big leagues and her supporting cast has limitations. If something doesn't change soon, the Fever might find themselves looking too far up the standings to mount a comeback making for another lost season in the Hoosier State.
