The Kansas City Chiefs fired John Dorsey back in June. At the time, despite Dorsey himself saying he was mostly just a caretaker at that point, it came as a shock to those who follow the National Football League.

A few months removed from that, and John Dorsey wants back in the game.

“Hopefully when January comes rolling around something good will happen,” Dorsey said. “I’d like to see if I get another opportunity to build. I see myself as a builder and a teacher. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll still try to get into football somehow but I’m the eternal optimist. I’m hoping something may happen. You’ve got to be prepared if something does happen.”

That quote came by way of Adam Schefter's podcast. It is an actual interesting edition of it and you should listen to most of it for good insight.

Dorsey believes he is as good at his job as most of his peers. If you don't believe him, here is a list of just his most recent acquisitions through the NFL Draft: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Marcus Peters and Kareem Hunt. That's a pretty good grouping to have and it doesn't even include the current starting gunslinger as well as that man's inevitable replacement.

What is interesting about the idea of Dorsey is about what role he would return to the NFL with, as a lot of teams are probably unwilling to bring him in as a general manager at this point. Maybe he could be a consultant of sorts?

That being said, maybe a franchise would be willing to give him the keys to the kingdom.
