A clearly heated Max Verstappen didn't mince words on what he thought about the incident. The Red Bull driver blamed his Formula 1 rival for the crash over the team radio.

“That's what happens when you don't give space,” said Verstappen.

The collision will reportedly be investigated further after the race to see if there are any penalties to be handed out.

“The incident will be investigated after the race but in commentary they think it was a racing incident and that looks fair enough to me,” per Daniel Harris of The Guardian.

This mutual DNF keeps the tight race atop the Formula 1 driver standings as is. Max Verstappen leads Lewis Hamilton 226.5 to 221.5, miles ahead of the next closest man on the grid in Valtteri Bottas.
