Andrew Garfield, Mia Goth, and Oscar Isaac’s roles in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein film have been revealed.
A bride, a doctor, and a monster walk into a bar
Months ago, Garfield, Goth, and Isaac were cast in del Toro’s Frankenstein. What’s on Netflix has now confirmed their roles. Garfield will be playing the Doctor, Goth the Bride, and Isaac the Monster. Christoph Waltz, who recently starred in del Toro’s Pinocchio film, will also star in Frankenstein in a “European male role.”
Filming was supposed to commence in the summer of 2023. However, the SAG-AFTRA strike would dash that plan.
Guillermo del Toro is fresh off his Pinocchio film for Netflix. The stop-motion film was co-directed by Mark Gustafson. It also won the Best Animated Feature Oscar. He is one of the most celebrated directors working in Hollywood. Some of his biggest credits include Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, and The Shape of Water.
Andrew Garfield is coming off his return to the role of Spider-Man in No Way Home. Other recent credits include Tick, Tick Boom!, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Mia Goth was one of 2022’s breakout stars. She starred in Ti West’s A24 horror film, X, and its prequel film, Pearl. Goth will return to the series in the threequel, MaXXXine. Outside of the A24 series, Goth has starred in Suspiria and Infinity Pool.
Oscar Isaac had a busy 2021. He starred in The Card Counter, The Addams Family 2, and Dune. Earlier this year, he starred in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as the Spider-Man 2099 variant.
