The founder of r/WallStreetBets (WSB) sold the rights for his life story to RatPac Entertainment, The Wall Street Journal reports.

FOUNDER OF R/WALLSTREETBETS MAY HAVE HIS LIFE DEPICTED IN ANY MEDIA

Having secured the rights for Jaime Rogzinski's story, RatPac Entertainment has an edge over other producers. There's clearly widespread interest in the whole GameStop-WSB saga, where Reddit users short-squeezed GameStop to punish hedge fund investors shorting the company's stocks. Various news channels covered the whole fiasco, and many people have thrown their support behind the Redditors' backs.

Thanks to this interest, producers are now trying to find ways to make money out of it. Just last week, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) secured the movie rights for The Antisocial Network. That is the title of a proposed book by New York Times best-selling author Ben Mezrich. Mezrich previously wrote the book  Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal., which Columbia Pictures eventually adapted into the 2010 film The Social Network.

However, RatPac Entertainment has a bigger advantage in bringing the WSB story to the big screen. RatPac's adaptation may take the form of any media. Indeed, Ratpac Entertainment reportedly can adapt Rogzinski's story into a podcast, a movie, or even a TV series.

As for Rogzinski, he hopes that the adaptation will go beyond just the recent GameStop saga. Instead, he wants to tell the whole story of r/WallStreetBets, which he founded way back in 2012.

“I'm laying it all out on the table,” says Rogzinski. “There are going to be some things that are extremely shocking, things that people don't know about me.”

As of now, there is no release window for the film. RatPac Entertainment also hasn't started casting anyone for any role yet. We probably can't expect a movie to come out until next year, at the earliest.
