Prepare your healings and your consumables, because the biggest, baddest boss in the overworld is finally here, and it’s another wolf that isn’t Lupus Boreas. The granddaddy of the new Rifthounds appears in Genshin Impact’s version 2.3, and its name is the Golden Wolflord. Even the name itself elicits awe and terror at the same time, so beware!
This Wolflord will appear in an arena within Tsurumi Island, so if you haven’t YET finished the quests there, it’s ideal to do it ahead of time. This monster’s main mechanic is applying stacks of Corrosion to your whole party, which is nothing short of annoying. It goes through all sorts of shields, including Zhongli’s monstrous shield. Team-wide healing seems to be the best strategy for sustaining during this fight, so gear up your healers like Barbara or Bennett, in order to make the fight easier.

It was also said that the Golden Wolflord is able to summon Rifthound Skulls to provide itself with shields, when it reaches a certain HP threshold. Also, as the fight progresses, the Wolflord will increase its attack damage, in exchange for lower Geo resistance. This suggests that Geo characters could be good counters for this boss.
Aesthetics-wise, this boss looks to be one of the more menacing ones, along with the original wolf boss, Lupus Boreas. This time, though, the wolf is floating in the air and dealing damage over time. Being a field boss, it drops unique ascension materials, which Itto needs to ascend to higher levels. If you’re planning to pull for Itto, farming this boss beforehand is recommended.
