To combat spoilers, leaks, and data mined content, Genshin Impact developers miHoYo released some official information ahead of others. Their official features of new characters Sayu and Yoimiya as soon as they added their data on the game's files surprised even the leakers. However, miHoYo cannot simply release information on all of their plans in one go. This gives room for leakers and data miners to still reveal some things not yet officially recognized by miHoYo. This includes two characters that haven't been officially revealed yet: Gorou and Baal.

Gorou is one of the leaked characters that we have the most information about so far. Gorou will potentially be the first Geo Bow user in Genshin Impact. Based on data mined conversation text, Gorou is a colleague of Kazuha and is part of a resistance group against the Shogun. Gorou sports fox ears, light brown hair, and light blue eyes. We don't know what rarity the character will be featured in, and what constellation he'll represent. A Geo Bow user will be an interesting combination, something we haven't seen before.

Meanwhile, the other leaked character is Baal, Inazuma's Shogun and the Electro Archon. She represents a different kind of leadership over her country as compared to both Zhongli and Venti. While Venti didn't interfere directly with Mondstadt's affairs, and Zhongli interfered but only as an overseer, Baal directly exercises her power over Inazuma as its head of state. Fans have so far been mixed on Baal's character design, describing her as “underwhelming” due to her very feminine and unassuming look.
As usual, these leaks and data-mined information are still subject to change, but to be honest, this information, true or not, keeps the interest alive for Genshin Impact. It gives fans something to look forward to in the long term. However, fans should be careful not to set their expectations in stone and still be open to changes to avoid massive disappointments.
