Paradox's decision to remove Hardsuit Labs from the upcoming Vampire sequel hit the studio pretty hard. Hardsuit made no announcements regarding the alleged staffing changes but several developers have confirmed the ongoing layoffs at the game studio. It's an understandable consequence of losing a massive game development project. The gravity of the layoffs remains unclear but it's certain that the studio took a massive hit.

Several former Hardsuit workers aired their grievances on social media. Their specific wording indicates that the layoffs affected a large number of workers.

Last week, Paradox Interactive thanked Hardsuit Labs for the development work on Bloodlines 2. Unfortunately, the studio-shift left Hardsuit in shambles and left to pick up the pieces.
“The studio has done a tremendous job in laying the foundations for the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate their contribution to Bloodlines 2.”
The development of Bloodlines 2 continues but the fate of Hardsuit Labs becomes uncertain. Paradox offered no definitive release date for the game that already received multiple delays. Hopefully, Hardsuit Labs offers an official update sooner or later regarding its future plans. Projects often demand the best efforts from all parties involved but the Hardsuit's complete removal from the project proves to be a massive hurdle.
There's no telling if the Hardsuit Labs game studio will be able to continue developing games in the future.
