The event for Honkai Star Rail Version 1.1‘s second phase, Stellar Flare, is here, so take a look at our guide on how to beat the event.

Stellar Flare

“A researcher from the space station found a combat simulation program of unknown origins called Stellar Flare. Running it can take the user into a simulated battleground, where you can practice warfare against different opponents.

There are special combat rules within the simulation. Familiarize yourself with them and build strategies for a smooth victory.”

Honkai Star Rail Event Rules:

After the event starts, a new challenge stage will be unlocked each day, for a total of 8 stages. Each stage has 3 difficulties: Dwarf Star, Giant Star, and Supergiant Star, with ascending enemy strength and different gameplay. The Trailblazer can challenge the Giant Star difficulty straight away, and the Supergiant Star difficulty will be unlocked after completing the Giant Star difficulty. The levels of enemies and any trial characters will be determined by the Trailblazer's current Equilibrium Level upon initiating the event for the first time. These levels will not be changed if your Equilibrium Level increases during the event.

Complete a stage to claim its prize from the event screen. Completing higher difficulties will automatically grant rewards for the lower difficulties. The Trailblazer can obtain Challenge Rewards after eliminating enemies in the third wave and sixth wave respectively in the Supergiant Star difficulty.

Honkai Star Rail Stellar Flare Guide

The enemies in this event will always be 5 levels lower than your current level cap. Additionally, the event will also allow the player to us Trial Units that are 5 levels lower than your current level cap. A total of 8 stages are available, with a new one being unlocked each day. As of this guide, there are currently four stages unlocked.

One thing that the event rules did not mention is that, each of the stage gives players a special buff specific to that stage. These buffs are supposed to help the player during this event, as it focuses a lot on speed. The clear conditions for all stages are the same:

Each stage has four reward tiers, each with its own rewards:

  • Finish the challenge in Dwarf Star difficulty
    • 30 Stellar Jades
    • 3 Traveler's Guide
    • 30000 Credits
  • Finish the challenge in Dwarf Star difficulty
    • 30 Stellar Jades
    • 5 of a Blue Trace and Light Cone Ascension material
      • This varies per stage
  • Eliminate 3 waves of monsters in the Supergiant Star difficulty
    • 15 Relic Remains
    • 5 Lost Gold Fragment
  • Eliminate 6 waves of monsters in the Supergiant Star difficulty
    • 5 Relic Remains
    • 20000 Credits

Should the player clear all four reward tiers for each Stage, they will get the following in total:

  • 480 Stellar Jades
  • 24 Traveler's Guide
  • 400,000 Credits
  • 40 varied Blue Trace and Light Cone Ascension material
  • 240 Relic Remains
  • 40 Lost Gold Fragments

Stage 1: Take Their Lives While They're Sick

Trial Character: Arlan

Stage Effect: When an ally inflicts Weakness Break on any enemy target, fully regenerate the ally's Energy immediately. After an ally uses their Ultimate to attack an enemy, DMG dealt to this enemy increases by 60%. This effect can stack up to 5 times.

Enemies:

  • Automaton Grizzly (Weakness: Fire, Ice, Lightning)
  • Automaton Hound (Weakness: Physical, Lightning)
  • Automaton Beetle (Weakness: Lightning, Wind, Imaginary)
  • Automaton Spider (Weakness: Lightning, Wind)

Recommended Team Members:

  • A Lightning DPS
    • This allows players to take advantage of the Stage Effect to constantly cast their Ultimate, thanks to all enemies being weak to Lightning. Examples of this include Jing Yuan, Serval, and Arlan. It is entirely possible to clear up to Supergiant Star using the Trial Arlan.
  • Two Harmony Characters
    • These Harmony characters will be in charge of powering up the DPS even more. Examples include Bronya, Tingyun, or Yukong
  • One Abundance Character
    • This is especially important if you are using the Trial Arlan, as his Skill will slowly whittle down his HP.

The general plan here is to Weakness Break the enemy with your DPS. This then allows them to do an Ultimate Loop that should make quick work of the enemy. Buff and Heal the DPS when neccesary.

Stage 2: Septenary Woe, Annihilation

Trial Character: Luocha

Stage Effect: When an ally uses their Skill or Ultimate, if their current HP is above 50% of their Max HP, consume HP equal to 30% of their Max HP to guarantee a CRIT Hit for the next attack, and increases all allies' ATK by 50% for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 8 times.

Enemies:

  • Searing Prowler (Weakness: Ice, Lightning, Imaginary)
  • Vagrant (Weakness: Physical, Lightning)
  • Automaton Hound (Weakness: Physical, Lightning)

Recommended Team Members:

  • An Abundance Character
    • The Stage Effect consumes 30% of a character's HP whenever it happens, so the player must constantly have a healer topping up the team's HP above 50%. The Trial Luocha is the perfect fit here as he can automatically heal characters whose HP goes below 50%, and his healing field also helps. Additionally, he deals Imaginary damage, which the boss is weak to.
  • A Lightning DPS
    • Much like the previous Stage, all of the enemies in this stage are weak to Lightning. As such, having a Lightning DPS is important, especially an AOE one. Jing Yuan is the best pick here, but the player can also use Arlan or Serval in a pinch. Just make sure to watch Arlan's HP.
  • Two Flex characters
    • Players can choose to bring either two supports like Bronya and TIngyun here, or bring more AOE Lightning Characters to deal even more damage.

Constantly use Skills and Ultimates when you can to increase the damage of your attacks. Also, remember to heal your team whenever possible.

Stage 3: Contagious Psych Bomb

Trial Character: Himeko

Stage Effect: When an ally inflicts Weakness Break on any enemy, reduce all enemies' Toughness to 0 and apply the same type of Weakness Break on them as that on the initial Weakness Broken enemy. After a Weakness Broken enemy is attacked, DMG dealt to it increases by 40%. This effect can stack up to 12 times.

Enemies:

  • Silvermane Lieutenant (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Quantum)
  • Silvermane Gunner (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Lightning)
  • Silvermane Soldier (Weakness: Wind, Quantum, Fire)
  • Silvermane Cannoneer (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Imaginary)

Recommended Team Members:

  • Your Strongest DPS
    • Thanks to the Stage Effect, you only really need to bring a DPS that one of the enemies is weak to. This includes the Trial Himeko, Seele, Qingque, Sushang, and more. As long as they can break one of the enemies on screen, they're good to go.
  • Two Harmony Characters
    • Maximizing damage is important in this Stage, as you will have to quickly deal damage to all enemies. That means bringing characters like Bronya, Tingyun, or Yukong.
  • One Flex character
    • The player can bring another DPS to round off the team, or bring an AOE character to apply the Stage Effect's increased DMG dealt. You can also bring a healer here as the Silvermane Lieutenants can deal a lot of damage.

Weakness Break one enemy, and you Break them all. As such, focus on attacking the one weak enemy, then just keep on attacking right after.

Stage 4: Limited Firepower

Trial Character: Qingque

Stage Effect: Using a Skill does not consume Skill Points. When using a Skill or an Ultimate on allies, additionally increase the target ally's CRIT Rate by 20% and CRIT DMG by 60% for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 2 times.

Enemies:

  • Silvermane Lieutenant (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Quantum)
  • Silvermane Gunner (Weakness: Physical, Ice)
  • Silvermane Soldier (Weakness: Wind, Quantum,)
  • Silvermane Cannoneer (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Imaginary)

Recommended Team Members:

  • Qingque
    • If there was ever a fight Qingque would excel in, it would be this one. As Skill Points are infinite in this stage, players can just constantly keep using Qingque's skill to empower her Basic Attack. Additionally, her Skill counts towards the stage effect, so you will always have the increased CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
  • Two Harmony Characters
    • These Harmony characters will be in charge of powering up Qingque as much as possible. You can run Bronya, Tingyun, or Yukong here.
  • One Flex Character
    • Players can either put a third Harmony character to stack even more buffs on Qingque, or bring an Abundance character as Qingque and the Harmony characters are very weak against damage.

Players should just repeatedly cast Qingque's Skill and Ultimate, as the Stage Effect is perfect for her.

Stage 5: It's My Turn!

Trial Character: Welt

Stage Effect: After an ally uses their Skill, they immediately gain 1 extra turn. The next time they use their Ultimate, the DMG dealt increases by 100%. This effect can stack up to 3 times.

Enemies:

  • Automaton Direwolf (Weakness: Ice, Lightning, Imaginary)
  • Automaton Hound (Weakness: Physical, Lightning)
  • Automaton Beetle (Weakness: Lightning, Wind, Imaginary)
  • Automaton Spider (Weakness: Lightning, Wind)

Recommended Team Members:

  • One Strong DPS
    • You will have to take advantage of the Stage Effect to use your character's skill multiple times. This can quickly charge up your ultimate, which will also increase your damage.
  • Welt
    • The Trial Welt is useful for quickly breaking the shield of the Automaton Direwolf. It's also helpful in delaying the enemy's actions.
  • Two Flex
    • You can put one healer and one Harmony character here, as it will help with dealing more damage using your DPS. However, Bronya might not be a good idea in this Stage, as using her Skill forces her to ta

While you can clear up to Giant Star using the Trial Welt, it might not be enough for Supergiant Star. There is, however, an easy way to cheese this level using Sushang. Her E1 makes it so that when she uses her Skill on a Weakness Broken enemy, her skill point gets refunded. That means that Sushang can infinitely use her Skill to deal damage, while also using her Ultimate every now and then. To do this cheese, you will have to use Welt to clear the first few waves of enemies. Afterward, use Welt to apply Weakness Break on the Automaton Direwolves. Once both of them are Weakness Broken, you can switch over to Sushang, and just keep spamming her Skill and Ultimate. Repeat this until all nine waves are dead. It can take a while, especially if your Sushang isn't fully built. However, it's still an easy way to clear Supergiant Star.

Stage 6: More Than Ice and Fire

Trial Character: Serval

Stage Effect: All allies' Break Effect increases by 100%. When an ally inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, triggers all debuffs and DoTs that would have been inflicted if all the enemy's Type Weaknesses were Broken. When allies use a Skill, all DoTs currently applied to the attacked enemy will immediately deal DMG equal to 100% of the original DMG.

Enemies:

  • Everwinter Shadewalker (Weakness: Physical, Fire, Quantum, Lightning)
  • Incineration Shadewalker (Weakness: Ice, Wind, Imaginary, Lightning)
  • Frostspawn (Weakness: Fire, Wind, Lightning)
  • Flamespawn (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Lightning)

Recommended Team Members:

  • Lightning DPS
    • Any of the three available Lightning DPS is vital to this stage, as all enemies are weak to Lightning. As all three available Lightning DPS have AOE skills, breaking multiple enemies at once is easy to do. Not only that but using their skills on the Weakness Broken enemies will also deal additional damage. The player can bring more than one Lightning DPS. The Trial Serval is very decent for this Stage.
  • Other DPS characters the enemies are weak to
    • You won't really need any healing in this stage, as the Frostspawns and Flamespawns can all potentially die in one hit. A good DPS character to bring is Himeko, as her Follow-up attack will be useful. If you are able to defeat the Frostspawns and Flamespawns from the first wave, the Break counter for Himeko's Passive will immediately activate in the following wave, allowing for easy breaks.

Players should constantly be using skills in this stage to take advantage of the Stage Effect. Use your AOE skills on the Frostspawn and Flamespawn waves to quickly clear them out, then use your Ultimates on the Everwinter and Incineration Shadewalker waves. The player should make sure to always have Skill Points on hand to activate the Stage Effect.

Stage 7: FeLiNa

Trial Character: Tingyun

Stage Effect: All allies' Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 50%. After an ally uses their Ultimate, all allies regenerate 10 Energy, as well as increase CRIT Rate by 5% and CRIT DMG by 15% for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 10 times.

Enemies:

  • Stormbringer (Weakness: Fire, Ice, Imaginary)
  • Voidranger: Reaver (Weakness: Physical, Lightning)
  • Antibaryon (Weakness: Physical, Quantum)

Recommended Team Members:

  • Tingyun
    • Using the Trial Tingyun or your own built Tingyun is key in this Stage. The Stage Effect promotes Ultimate Use, and as such Tingyun's Ultimate-charging Ultimate will be important in any team composition.
  • An AOE DPS
    • Using an AOE DPS is important here as you will need a way to clear out the Voidranger: Reavers and Antibaryons that spawn in between waves. This can be a Physical or a Lightning Character, so Clara, Serval, or Arlan can work
  • A DPS the Stormbringer is weak to
    • Once you clear out the other enemies, you will have to burst down the boss using your Ultimates. As such, it's important to bring someone that the Boss is weak to. This can be Himeko, Yanqing, Welt, or Hook if the player really has no one else.
  • A Flex character
    • The player can bring a healer to keep their team alive. Alternatively, they can bring Yukong for the buffs and Imaginary damage, or Bronya for the Comat Redeployment

As mentioned above, constantly using your ultimate is the key in this stage. The player must use their ultimate constantly, especially when there are multiple enemies in the wave. Doing so helps keep the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG buffs up, which is very important as it gives 50% CRIT Rate and 150% CRIT DMG at max stats.

Stage 8: Comatose for but a Second

Trial Character: Sampo

Stage Effect: All allies' Break Effect increases by 100%. When an ally inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, the enemy's Toughness immediately regenerates to its maximum value. When an enemy's Weakness is Broken, all DoTs currently applied to this enemy immediately deal DMG equal to 80% of the original DMG.

Enemies:

  • Decaying Shadow (Weakness: Fire, Lightning, Wind)
  • Frostspawn (Weakness: Fire, Wind, Lightning)
  • Flamespawn (Weakness: Physical, Ice, Wind)

Recommended Team Members:

  • Sampo
    • Sampo shines in this Stage for two reasons. First, his skill hits multiple times, which does two things. It applies Wind Shear multiple times to enemies, and it also applies Weakness Break over and over again to the Flamespawn and Frostspawn. Thanks to the Stage Effect, Toughness regenerates instantly upon break, This makes it ideal for Sampo to constantly break them and apply the DoT DMG.
  • Another DPS
    • Since the enemies have common weaknesses, bringing someone that can break multiple of them at the same time helps. Good choices include Himeko, Serval, Arlan, Jing Yuan, Hook, and Dan Heng. In particular, Serval and Hook would do well, as they apply DoTs on enemies with their skills. This will increase the damage the Stage Effect does. Himeko is also good because of her Follow-Up passive, which can also potentially apply Weakness Break, and in turn cause Burn.
  • Two Flex Characters
    • The player can decide to bring a buffer and a healer to fill in the ranks. The next choices for this are Bailu, Tingyun, Bronya, and Asta, as they can also help break enemy Toughness. Of course, the player can also go all out and just bring more DPS characters.

Breaking the enemy's toughness is the most important thing to do in this stage. Constantly applying the DoTs and Weakness Breaking the enemy will clear them out instantly.
