Based on the Thai CGI film Krut: The Himmaphan Warriors, players take on the role of a Garuda Warrior on the enchanted island of Himmaphan. The film's IMDB page offers this excerpt: “When the War between the majestic Garuda and the monstrous Raksod burst into a wide-spread annexation all over the ancient world, the last soldiers of Garuda have the courageous Himmaphan Warriors joining their alliance. Together, they have to fight against the brutal annihilation from the cold-hearted creatures that want to conquer the world.”
In this fast-paced side-scrolling hack and slash action game, you control the Garuda Warrior Krut in defending his homeland from an invading army of Ogres. The better part of the Garuda Army has fallen in battle and it's now up to you, one of the last remaining Garuda Warriors, in reclaiming the capital city from the ruthless invaders.
After falling in battle in defense of his homeland, Krut awakens on the mysterious enchanted island of Himmaphan. Here, he meets a mysterious figure that gives him the Mythic Wings, a legendary artifact used by a legendary warrior that ended a Great War a hundred years ago. With this, you'll be able to liberate your land and push back the invaders.
Krut: The Mythic Wings showcases Southeast Asian mythology, specifically Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist mythologies where Garuda is a winged demigod serving as the mount of the Hindu god Vishnu. Garuda is a significant figure in Indian, Indonesian, and Thai cultures. Krut: The Mythic Wings is coming out on PC through Steam, on PlayStation, on Xbox, and on the Nintendo Switch on July 12, 2022.
