  • RED: Aatrox, Jarvan IV, Zoe, Ezreal, Renata Glasc

For the first match of the day, PCS representatives PSG Talon have drafted a dive comp. Against this, the CBLOL representatives RED Canids assembled a poke-focused composition.

This was quite an uneventful game. Both teams were incredibly focused on objectives, which meant that skirmishing in the early to mid game were scarce. The first blood only came in when both PSG and RED met at the first Rift Herald. Unified successfully get the kill but Aegis ran away with the Eye of the Herald.

A huge fight facilitated by Bay's Vex was the one that decided the match, taking out the RED Canids squad in an instant.

Result: PSG win in 27:46 (PSG 14 – 1 RED Canids)

  • RNG: Gangplank, Wukong, Zoe, Ezreal, Leona
  • IW: Vladimir, Diana, Irelia, Kai'Sa, Pyke

Istanbul Wildcats, standing in front of the LPL team, decided to draft a team fight comp. Still, everything seemed to go RNG's favor. The skill disparity between the two teams were very apparent, and the casters even referred to this as an act of bullying by RNG.

Nonetheless, Ferret on Diana was quite strong in the midgame. He put the entirety of IW on his shoulders but it wasn't enough. IW's solo lanes were quite ineffective against Bin and Xiaohu. Both Turkish solo laners ended the game at 0 kills.

The gold lead didn't really reflect how far ahead RNG was in terms of map control as Pyke's R – Death from Below was cushioning the gold gap.

As many might have expected, RNG mowed down IW quite quickly.

Result: RNG win in 23:16 (RNG 29 – 11 IW)

  • PSG: Gwen, Graves, Vex, Jhin, Leona

Holyphoenix continues to pull multiple bans from his enemies. His Kalista is once again taken away, and it seems that the teams in Group B intend on permabanning it against him.

This game went back and forth. There were fights left, right, and center, and all of them look like either team could've won. We see another instance of Umbral Glaive Graves, and Juhan paired it with the Dark Harvest rune.

PSG only had a significant gold lead when they claimed baron, which they grew and snowballed into a win to end this 33-minute bloodbath.

Result: PSG win in 32:56 (IW 17 – 20 PSG)

Game 4: RED Canids (CBLOL) vs Royal Never Give Up (LPL)

  • RNG: Ahri, Lucian, Wukong, Kalista, Draven

Picks

  • RED: Gwen, Viego, Vex, Jhin, Leona
  • RNG: Jax, Lee Sin, Twisted Fate, Kai'Sa, Nautilus

Out of all the games RNG has played, this was the least LPL-like of them all. They focused more on macro and stacking objectives up until the mid game, when they simply just exploded.

It was utter domination by RNG once again. RED Canids only held a gold advantage at one point, and it was by 15 gold. The LPL team didn't even need the Ocean Soul, since they ended the game before it could even spawn.

GALA's second pentakill of MSI and everybody but Ming's Nautilus going deathless this game should tell you how one-sided this game was.

Result: RNG win in 20:33 (RED 3 – 20 RNG)

  • RED: Gwen, Lee Sin, Zoe, Zeri, Leona
  • IW: Tryndamere, Viego, Viktor, Jhin, Alistar

RED Canids, seemingly frustrated from the previous loss, took it out on the Wildcats. Aegis was incredibly aggressive from the get-go, and the rest of RED Canids followed suit.

Even the casters were in awe of the massacre by RED Canids. They said that RED was “brutalizing” IW, and that was apt. At one point, the only thing that kept RED from having a perfect game was the single drake that IW claimed.

The drake was of no help against Aegis' Lee Sin, who ended the game with 15 kills and 1 death. The Istanbul Wildcats are out of Rumble Stage contention.

Result: RED win in 29:58 (RED 31 – 8 IW)

Game 6: PSG Talon (PCS) vs Royal Never Give Up (RNG)

  • RNG: Ahri, Wukong, Senna, Vex, Zoe

Picks

  • PSG: Vladimir, Graves, Lissandra, Miss Fortune, Leona
  • RNG: Irelia, Viego, LeBlanc, Aphelios, Sett

PSG Talon surprised everyone with their good decision making this game. They were keeping up with RNG, with no small thanks to Juhan's performance on Graves.

PSG held the gold lead, albeit small, for some time in the mid game, but one thing that RNG had going for them were drakes. They have stacked three and were at Soul Point. The game was relatively even at this point, up until Wei did a hero play and stole the Baron a-Wei (get it?)

RNG ended with the Baron buff gained through Wei's heroics, and conclude the day undefeated.

Result: RNG win in 33:29 (PSG 14 – 14 RNG)

Group B Standings

Only Istanbul Wildcats are out of contention; RED Canids, PSG Talon, and Royal Never Give Up all have at least one possibility that they move on to the Rumble Stage.
