PUBG Lite stood as the alternative to players hoping to try the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds experience. Lite was a free version of Battlegrounds designed for lower-grade computers. Now, the game will be shutting its doors for good following a tough decision from PUBG Studio. Players can no longer access the website but services for the game will continue through to April 29.

SAYING GOODBYE TO PUBG LITE

“We would like to convey our sincerest apology as well as our deepest appreciation to everyone. We truly hope you have enjoyed your time with us and please look forward to our future endeavors.”

PUBG Studio officially halted updates for the game back in 2020. Naturally, many expected such a development considering the stunning lack of new content for the Lite game. PUBG first released on beta in Thailand in January 2019. That means the game only ran for over a year before the company stopped developing updates for it. Players flocked to PUBG Lite for its lower system requirements but now those players will have to make do with the official PUBG game on Steam. Alternatively, players could also try out the mobile version of the famous battle royale.

Recently, PUBG Mobile surpassed over 1 billion downloads worldwide. The mobile version of the famous battle royale game certainly stands above the other versions of the game. PUBG Studio repeatedly promised better things for its loyal players but those future projects remain unseen. Hopefully, we'll get new updates from the studio behind the game that made battle royales popular.
