Riot Games is doing away with the Prestige Points system in its entirety. A “new model” will replace the Prestige Point system sometime in 2021. If you still have any Prestige Points left in your account, you will still have time to spend them. Product Manager Ken Adams gave a quick update to the LOL community ahead of the 2021 season.
Players can spend their Prestige Points up until mid-2021 in the interest of fairness. This will be the final chance to off-load points before the system is gone for good. Soraka, Diana, Fiora, Leona, and Lulu will receive Prestige Skins in the coming months. Fans can expect more news about these upcoming skins in the near future.

With less than half the year to obtain points and less than half as many options to choose from compared to 2019 and 2020, we thought it’d be unfair to create a 2021 edition of Prestige Points.”
Riot already announced the addition of a new item tier that could possibly shake up the entire competition. The departure from that may simply affect cosmetics but it is a reminder of Riot's commitment to improving the game even through massive changes. There may still be more changes incoming for the game as the preseason continues. New item tiers and different cosmetic systems won't stop the millions of players from enjoying this esports titan.
