Shortnitemares will be Fortnite‘s first-ever horror film festival.

Previously, Epic Games introduced Short Nite, their short film festival in Fortnite. Back then players could participate in the Short Nite event through Party Royale mode. This Halloween season, Short Nite is making its return but is now called Shortnitemares. Here’s everything that you need to know about Shortnitemares.

The new Film Festival is basically Short Nite but this time with its own dedicated game mode. Instead of accessing Party Royale, players simply need to access Creative Mode to spawn in the theater. Quantum Builds, a third-party studio, were the ones who developed the dedicated Shortnitemares theater.

Within the theater, there will be a central area wherein players can watch all featured films. If you feel like only watching one of the featured films, there will be separate areas dedicated to each film. It’s worth mentioning that Epic will be enabling a picture-in-picture option. This means that moviegoers who still want to play in battle royale mode can still watch films from Shortnitemares synchronously. There isn’t any full schedule yet as to what time each film will show in the theater. What we do know is there are 7 featured short films expected to show in Shortnitemares.

We do suggest that you participate in the Shortnitemares event via Creative Mode. Doing so gives players the Spray Matter spray. Players just need to chill out in the lobby for at least 30 minutes or more to acquire the spray. Also, just in time for Shortnitemares is a die-hard moviegoer coming to the item shop Kernal Poppy. There isn’t any official pricetag on him yet, so we’ll just have to wait ‘til he appears in the item shop. Shortnitemares Film Festival will begin on October 28, 3 PM PT and will end on November 1, 3 PM PT.
