EA College Football 25 looks to bring back classic modes like Dynasty and Road to Glory, but what about Mascot Mode? For those who never played the old NCAA Football games from EA Sports, Mascot mode, as the name suggested, let you play as the team's mascot. Instead of seeing 22 players take the field, you'd see 22 mascots (99 OVR) take the field and absolutely dominate. This mode, while mostly for jokes, was fun to play with friends. So many fans want to know – is it coming to EA College Football 25?
Is Mascot Mode Coming To EA College Football 25?
EA Sports College Football 25 will not include Mascot Mode, according to Chris Vannini of The Athletic. He and several others received the opportunity to play College Football 25 briefly. While he noted a lot of great details like a strong running game and presentation, he did mention that Mascot Mode was not available.
While we should still wait for official confirmation from EA, it seems likely that the game will not include Mascot Mode. If so, that would be an extreme disappointment to fans who've been waiting over a decade to see it return. Sure, it's not as deep as Dynasty, but it was still fun to play. Furthermore, it gave each team a level playing field since all teams were 99 OVR.
I mean, who wouldn't want to play as a stacked team of mascots who have virtually every skill available to them? I guess EA Orlando is the answer to that question, as it probably wasn't important enough for them to add. Instead, we'll be receiving College Football Ultimate Team, where your experience might be dictated by how much money you spend in real life.
However, Vannini did mention that it could come in future generations. But in all honesty, do we really care about College Football 26 and beyond right now? Fans have been waiting for this game, not the one in the future that could include mascot mode. Overall, it's just sad to hear we couldn't get that mode.
While it might not be in College Football 25, we hope to see it in future installments. In fact, adding it an a post launch update alone would be awesome. Nevertheless, we can only hope to see its return at some point.
