You may want to put off any printing jobs for the meantime until Microsoft fixes this Windows 10 update bug.
WINDOWS 10 UPDATE BUG CAUSES PC TO CRASH WHEN PRINTING
In Microsoft's latest Windows 10 update last Tuesday, some users reported experiencing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). The update is part of Microsoft's regular security updates every second Tuesday of the month. The Windows 10 update bug seems to cause computers to crash when they try to print. It doesn't seem like the bug is affecting all types of printers. Users with Ricoh, Zebra, and Kyocera printers seem to be affected the most. However, Microsoft has yet to acknowledge the update bug, and hence a comprehensive list of affected printers won't be available any time soon. Either make sure you save all your files before attempting to print or avoid printing entirely.
HOW TO FIX THE PRINTING BUG
Thankfully, getting around the Windows 10 update bug doesn't require a complicated solution. Anyone can do it. Users only need to uninstall the latest update. Simply go to Settings> Update and Security> Windows Update and then click View Update History. Click the Uninstall update button, find the guilty parties – cumulative updates KB5000808 or KB5000802, and uninstall them.
This fix should suffice until Microsoft releases their next stable update for Windows 10.
This isn't the first time that an official Windows 10 update from Microsoft caused printing errors for some computers. June last year, another Windows 10 update bug caused the print function of some computers to completely not work. To solve this, Microsoft released a batch of unscheduled updates. Knowing that Microsoft can respond this way to unexpected and unwanted update bugs, we can see the same move being utilized for this issue. Microsoft may soon release a new batch of unscheduled updates to make sure that everyone can safely print their documents.
