In the sea of depressing stories and stats around the New York Giants last season, two of the most disappointing and embarrassing ones were the touchdown columns on the stat sheets for Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney, which both had goose eggs.

New head coach Brian Daboll is inheriting an offense that couldn't get their big free agency splash or prized rookie into the endzone. He told Michael Eisen of Giants.com that he went back to watch the film of both players and will give them some influence in what they run.

“He's a big-bodied guy that makes contested catches, so he's like all the other guys. I went back and watched the Detroit seasons and he had some good seasons, just like when I went back and watched KT (Kadarius Toney) at Florida. You try to do as much work as you can on these guys before they get there to see what have they been successful at and figure out a way to use them in things they've excelled at. You've got to see them do the things that you're going to ask them to do in the offense.”

Giving Golladay and Toney some power should do wonders for New York's passing attack. They are both skilled receivers who bring different skills to the table. Golladay has impressive size and coordination while Toney is a menace to catch in the open field.

New York's offense was horrific last season by virtually every metric. With another new head coach, the Giants are hoping they can finally tap into the talent they have around Daniel Jones, though he will also need to step up. Saquon Barkley is sticking around and Toney should improve on what was a solid rookie season trapped in a Jason Garrett-led offense.
