The New York Giants' former wide receiver, Odell Beckham, hit the waivers and can be claimed by a team. The Giants don't seem too interested in re-signing Odell.

Joe Judge was asked about the possibility of claiming Odell Beckham off waivers. His answer was short and simple,

“Wouldn’t expect anything.”

Odell is an extremely talented wide receiver. There's no denying that. For the Giant's long-term future it wouldn't make sense to take on Odell's contract right now. If the Giants were in a win-now situation it would make sense. This is a team that isn't going to make the playoffs once again. Every dollar that they spend and every draft pick that they make in the future is going to determine the success of their franchise.

The Giants picking up Odell would be a nice feels good story, but it simply wouldn't make sense from the Giants perspective.

Odell has also come out and said that he wants to sign with a contending team. It wouldn't make sense on his part either.

It's going to be interesting to see where Odell ends up. It's possible that he ends up with a team like the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, or even a team like the Kansas City Chiefs.

Joe Judge has made it clear that the Giants will not be pursuing the wide receiver.
